Is Bill Condon’s Bride of Frankenstein being resurrected with Gal Gadot?

Last years microcosmic lifespan of Universal’s Dark Universe, halted by the failure of The Mummy, put paid to a series of run-before-you-could-walk spin-off movies; The Invisible Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Wolf Man.

Appropriately enough, the only film that appears to have been brought back to life is Bill Condon’s Bride of Frankenstein, which was about to get underway with its London shoot when the bandages began to unravel on Tom Cruise’s summer flop.

It’s now being reported that a production team is being put in place featuring cinematographer Tobias A. Schliessler (A Wrinkle In Time), production designer Sarah Greenwood (Darkest Hour), composer Carter Burwell (Fargo), and costume designer Jacqueline Durran (Beauty and The Beast).

However, such forward momentum would rule out original Bride, Angelina Jolie, who is set to reprise her role in Maleficent 2, with cameras set-to-roll in April on the Disney sequel.

It appears that the popular choice to replace her is Gal Gadot, who was linked with the monster movie last year, but she’ll be kicking ass as Wonder Woman when Patty Jenkin’s sequel gets underway this summer, so they’ll either have to wait, or attach the paddles to another actress.

Would Gadot’s involvement pique your interest in Bride of Frankenstein, or has your patience with the brand expired after Dracula: Untold and The Mummy? Let us know in the comments below…

It looks as if Trump’s Fake News Awards aren’t today after all.

Trump will name “the most corrupt & biased of the Mainstream Media” on Wednesday, according to a Jan. 7 tweet, but he appears to have done little preparation for the event — if there even is an event.

“We’ll keep you posted on any details around that potential event and what that would look like,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Tuesday when asked about the awards.

Posted? Potential? Would look like? But the awards are supposed to be today. Has he not prepared? No shopping for medals or tiny statues? No combing through the entries? No secret ballots?

What happened to the president’s tweeted claim, nine days earlier, that “the interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated”?

Heightened interest was Trump’s stated reason for pushing back the awards, which he initially said he would give out Jan. 8.

Maybe there’s so much interest he’s put the awards off until 2037.

So Trump failed to deliver on his promised fake news awards. So does that make his original promise fake news?

Take the Trump test: are you fit to be US president?

Trump apparently scored a perfect 30/30 score on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment

The results of the annual presidential physical exam are in and Donald Trump has been declared “fit for duty” by the presidential physician, Ronny Jackson.

The navy doctor delivered the assessment at an hour-long press conference at the White House on Tuesday, saying the president’s health was “excellent”, his mind was “sharp” and that he needed only four or five hours’ sleep a night.

I've just looked at the test and am pretty sure that my kids could all score 30/30 as well. In fact, given that they would all get an extra point for being under 12, they would all score better than Trump.
